Balik Aral Program (BAP)

The DLSU-D Balik-Aral Program is an academic outreach initiative that helps out-of-school youth and adult learners continue or complete their basic education through the Department of Education’s Alternative Learning System (ALS). Managed by the College of Education (COED), the program reflects the Lasallian core values of faith, zeal for service, and communion in mission by empowering learners to reclaim their future through education. The program is facilitated by volunteer faculty members and staff of DLSU-D and COED students after their regular work and class schedules, emphasizing community service and educational outreach.

Program Requirements

  • Age: 12 years old and above for Elementary Level; 16 years old and above for Junior High School Level
  • 2 pcs. 2x2 ID picture (white background)
  • 2 pcs. 1x1 ID picture (white background)
  • Photocopy of PSA Birth Certificate
  • Photocopy of latest school record (if available)  
  • Barangay Clearance / Certificate (indicating the present home address of the applicant) 

Enrollment Procedures

The following procedures guide enrollment to the program: 

 

  1. Contact the Balik-Aral Program Supervisor through any of the following to set a schedule for submission of the required documents:
    • Visit and message the FB page of BAP: DLSU-Dasmariñas ALS Balik-Aral Program
    • Visit the BAP office at COED LDH 106. Or the COED Dean’s Office at FCH103
    • Call (046) 481-1900 local 3236
  2. Proceed to the BAP Office on the agreed date to submit the documents, fill out the application form, and interview for the program. Bring a valid ID to present at the gates for entrance into the DLSUD campus. 

BAP Objectives

Following the objectives of the DepEd Alternative Learning System (ALS), the DLSUD BAP, as DepEd's Implementing ALS Provider, aims to provide out-of-school youth and adults with access to basic education, functional literacy, and lifelong learning opportunities, enabling them to improve their quality of life and become productive members of society.

How to be a volunteer teacher?

Faculty members, teachers, and staff of DLSU-D may volunteer as BAP learning facilitators during their free time, once their official duties have been completed. Interested individuals may express their intention directly to the BAP Supervisor at the LDH106 office. At the beginning of every semester, the BAP Supervisor also issues a formal call for volunteer teachers to the DLSU-D community. The program covers the following learning strands: -ENGLISH -FILIPINO -SCIENCE -MATH -CAREER AND LIFE SKILLS -UNDERSTANDING THE SELF AND SOCIETY -DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP

FAQs

Registration begins in January every year.

Regular BAP classes in DLSU-D officially commence in August.

Registration to the BAP is free of charge.

 

However, qualified BAP learners pay a minimal amount of ₱100 at the DLSU-D Accounting Office for the issuance of a DLSU-D ID, which must be worn at all times inside the campus.

There is no prescribed uniform for BAP learners. Instead, learners must follow the DLSU-D student dress code policy while inside the campus.

School records of BAP passers are issued by the DepEd ALS City Schools Division of Dasmariñas (Cavite).

 

DLSU-D serves as an Implementing ALS Provider under the DepEd ALS City Schools Division of Dasmariñas. Successfully completing the BAP means passing the ALS Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) Test, which is administered by DepEd at the end of every school year.

Partnerships

 

In an official Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Education ALS City Schools Division of Dasmariñas (Cavite) as Implementing ALS Provider. 

 

The DLSU-D Balik-Aral Program has the following achievements in the school year 2024-2025:

  • 4th Highest Percentage of Passers in the 2024 A & E Test in the City Schools Division of Dasmarinas (56.52%).

  • Top 4 in 2024 A & E Test Achievers (ELEM) in the City Schools Division of Dasmarinas.

  • Top 2 in 2024 A & E Test Achievers (JHS) in the City Schools Division of Dasmarinas.

The DLSU-D Balik-Aral Program offers opportunity to complete the ALS program from elementary level to senior high school (ICT-TVL Track).

The DLSU-D Night College is also available for qualified ALS passers.

 

The DLSU-D Balik-Aral Program offers learners with learning sessions on top of those required by the ALS DepEd program like religious education subject, Lasallian formation, session with the Student Wellness Office (Guidance and Counselling Office).
