Doctor of Philosophy Major in Educational Management

The program provides research-oriented educators/administrators with advanced and complex application of sound philosophical theories and practices in educational management and leadership attuned to the needs and demands of a highly globalized society. 

• Upon successful completion of the program, students will be able to: 

• Apply functional knowledge and understanding of the philosophies, theories, approaches, techniques, and research-based practices related to educational management in the local and global contexts. 

• Develop advanced competence in conducting self-directed and practice-based research and enhanced ability to locate, generate, analyze, evaluate, and synthesize information from a wide variety of sources in a planned and timely manner to address issues and concerns in the context of educational management. 

• Demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills of professional practice of educational management to engage more confidently and effectively in the tasks of leading people, influencing policy, planning strategy, and managing change projects. 

• Apply effective, creative, and innovative solutions and the appropriate contemporary technologies to current and future problems related to school operations, curriculum management, and instructional leadership, either independently or collaboratively. 

• Practice sound reflection and analysis of ethical, social, cultural, and legal issues/concerns and exercise the utmost professional skills and responsibilities in addressing them. 

• Exhibit strong dedication to the highest standards of professional endeavor and manifest exemplary ability to take a leadership role in the school community, both in the local and global settings. 

• Demonstrate a high commitment to continuous learning and the capacity to maintain intellectual curiosity as an educational leader and manager.
