Bachelor of Arts in Political Science
The Bachelor of Arts in Political Science program provides a comprehensive and comparative study of politics and governance in domestic and international affairs. The program delves into understanding political ideas, institutions, behavior, and processes that prepare students for good citizenship and social and political action. The program prepares the students for a career involving political and administrative dynamics, public policy analysis, political relations, public finance, administration, and in law.
Program Goals
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of the conceptual, structural, and functional dimensions of the political institutions, actors, and groups.
- Engage in political and legal debates on pressing issues in the domestic and global realm.
- Critique and initiate substantive changes to the existing policies/laws that have been ineffective in promoting national interest.
- Apply leadership skills by actively participating in community initiatives and policy discussions to address national issues.
- Develop theories/paradigms using qualitative and/or quantitative frameworks of analysis in understanding and resolving prevailing political issues and problems through research.
- Act in recognition of professional, social, legal, and ethical responsibility.
