Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics

Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics
The Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics (BS Applied Math), is a four-year degree that combines mathematical theory with practical application. Students may choose from two specializations:
Data Analytics Track, which trains students to transform data into actionable insights for technology, business, and research.
Operations Research Track, emphasizing modeling, optimization, and simulation to enhance decision-making in industrial and public sectors.
BS Applied Math equips graduates to become data-driven innovators, critical thinkers, and problem-solvers, ready to lead in the digital age and contribute to sustainable progress through mathematics.
Its curriculum blends mathematical theory with computational and analytical applications. Students are trained to approach real-world challenges through modeling, simulation, and data interpretation—equipping them for research, technology, and decision-making roles in diverse industries.

Program Goals
Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics
Graduates of the BS Applied Mathematics program are expected to:
Gain mastery in the core areas of mathematics, i.e. algebra, analysis and geometry through collaboration with other learners having distinct abilities;
Demonstrate skills in pattern recognition, generalization, abstraction, critical analysis, synthesis, problem-solving, data-driven decision making and rigorous argument in addressing real-world problems;
Develop an enhanced perception of the vitality and importance of mathematics in the modern world including inter-relationships within math and its connection to culture, arts and other disciplines;
Understand the concept and role of proof and reasoning and demonstrate knowledge in reading and writing mathematical proofs;
Utilize mathematical findings and research to promote innovation and ensure sustainable progress in the society;
Communicate mathematical ideas orally and in writing using clear and precise language.
