Bachelor of Science in Biology
The Bachelor of Science in Biology program is a comprehensive undergraduate program designed to develop scientifically competent, research-oriented, and socially responsible graduates equipped to address contemporary biological and environmental challenges.
Grounded in Lasallian values of Faith, Service, and Communion and anchored on a progressive-existentialist philosophy of education, the program integrates rigorous theoretical foundations with hands-on laboratory, field, and research experiences. The curriculum emphasizes research-based and community-oriented learning, enabling students to apply biological concepts to real-world problems in biodiversity conservation, public health, environmental sustainability, and biotechnology. Through exposure to interdisciplinary research and collaborative projects with government agencies, local communities, and international partners, students gain practical skills in scientific investigation, data analysis, and evidence-based decision-making.
Recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as a Center of Development (COD) in 2016, the BS Biology program upholds high standards of academic excellence and continuous quality improvement. It prepares graduates for careers in research, education, healthcare, environmental management, and industry, as well as for advanced studies in biology and related fields."
