Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Business Economics

The program provides students with relevant opportunities to learn key economic theories and models as well as analytical tools in order to build critical thinking skills.

The program focuses on microeconomics and macroeconomics with specific topics on investment, banking, development planning and business processes, and a wider understanding of the factors that can affect business decisions in all functional areas to achieve efficiency.

Business economics is more normative rather than descriptive in nature with the end with a view to prescribing policies for a business manager who wants to achieve his objectives. Through this program, the students will enhance their skills in data acquisition and statistical analysis techniques, critical thinking, research and report writing, competency with relevant software, and the ability to analyze business behaviors as well as the microeconomic and macroeconomic trends. Moreover, the program prepares the students to harness their potentials and be fully equipped with the 21st-century skills that emphasize quantitative research with strong foundations not only in business and economic analysis but also in statistics, econometrics, and mathematics. These quantitative tools are essential components to hone the students in sound decision-making in business, both in private and public sectors. The program culminates with a thesis that is worthy of publication and/or conference paper presentation for local and/or international fora.

Develop quantitative competencies using mathematics, statistics, and econometrics for evidence-based decision-making.
Strengthen understanding of business functions and their interactions with economic environments.
