At De La Salle University‑Dasmariñas (DLSU‑D), research is more than outputs—it is a mission‑aligned pursuit that advances knowledge, informs policy, empowers communities, and safeguards human dignity. The Faculty Research Manual 2024–2029 sets the standards, processes, and support systems that enable faculty to conduct rigorous, ethical, and socially transformative research.
All users are guided by the University’s Catholic Lasallian identity and its commitment to integrity, social consciousness, innovation, and moral responsibility.

What Counts as Research (and Funding Types)
1. Develop and Submit
Submit research proposals aligned with IRT/CDRP to the DRC. Proposal deliberations occur in August, November, February, and May.

Sign up for the Research Agreement Contract (RAC), receive the Notice to Proceed (NTP), and begin implementation.
Completion: achieved through blind review or indexed publication plus final output and liquidation
Extensions: up to 24 months with required endorsements
Termination: due to violations, non‑completion, or resignation; includes payback and a two‑year ineligibility period
Dissemination through conferences, media, and online channels
Support for publication in reputable journals
IP assistance for patent, utility model, industrial design, or trademark filings
Research utilization for policy, community development, or program design
Incentives for journal publications, IP certifications, creative works, and utilization
Eligibility and multiplier systems for co‑authorship
Research output is counted for promotions and recognitions
Compensation may include teaching deloading, research overload, or both
Unit assignment depends on research type, scope, and data source
MOOE is released upon NTP; realignments require URO approval
Equipment purchased is turned over after completion

The Faculty Research Manual is effective from August 1, 2024 to July 31, 2029, with amendments possible after two years.
