LCDC is the extension arm of De La Salle University-Dasmarinas that manages and facilitates sustainable, inclusive, relevant, and innovative extension and service-learning programs. Leveraging three and a half decades of experience, LCDC has demonstrated steadfast dedication to fostering collaborative and inclusive partnerships, guided by the Lasallian spirit and unwavering commitment to advancing sustainable community development.

Programs and Services

The Lasallian Community Development implements the following programs:

Quality Education through Service and Transformation (QUEST) Program: A program that integrates academic learning with community service, engaging students in organized activities that respond to community and institutional needs. Rooted in Lasallian values of faith, zeal for service, and communion in mission, it promotes holistic development through critical reflection and meaningful service.
Community Development Program: A program that engages the Lasallian academic community and like-minded organizations in meaningful and sustainable partnerships with marginalized communities and vulnerable sectors. Guided by the values of faith, zeal for service, and communion in mission, it promotes development initiatives that respond to community needs and foster long-term social impact.

Program Thrusts:

Sustainability and Resiliency – Promoting holistic well-being, entrepreneurial initiatives, ecological awareness, and disaster preparedness to build more inclusive, healthier, and resilient communities.
Social Engagement and Advocacy – Fostering active participation, formation, and critical awareness to promote justice, peace, and social transformation through education and collective action.

Volunteeers for Scoial Development

The Lasallian Community Development Center (LCDC) serves as the university’s lead office in promoting volunteerism as a pathway to social development. It provides opportunities for meaningful engagement among students, faculty, and partner communities through various outreach and development programs.

Students’ Extension of Resources through Voluntary Efforts (SERVE)

One of the key initiatives under LCDC is its supervision of the Students’ Extension of Resources through Voluntary Efforts (SERVE)—a student-led volunteer organization at De La Salle University–Dasmariñas (DLSU-D). SERVE empowers students to actively participate in community service, advocacy, and development work, embodying the Lasallian mission of faith, service, and communion.

Since its formal establishment in May 1989, SERVE has played a pivotal role in promoting a culture of volunteerism and supporting the realization of community development initiatives. It began as a pool of student volunteers assisting the community outreach programs of the then Community Relations Office (CRO) of DLSU–Emilio Aguinaldo College (DLSU-EAC). Over time, as the institution evolved into De La Salle University–Dasmariñas, and CRO transitioned into the Lasallian Community Development Center, SERVE continued to grow in scope and impact.

SERVE has become a home for students who are passionate about service, offering them opportunities to engage in various outreach activities, advocacy campaigns, and development programs. It provides a platform for students to live out the Lasallian mission through active participation in social transformation efforts.

Under the guidance of LCDC faculty, SERVE ensures that student volunteers receive formation and accompaniment through structured programs and activities that foster holistic growth—spiritually, socially, and intellectually. These experiences not only deepen their understanding of community realities but also empower them to become compassionate and responsible leaders. Through the years, SERVE has remained steadfast in its commitment to community engagement, continuously adapting to emerging social issues and expanding its reach. It stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of volunteerism within the Lasallian community, inspiring generations of students to serve with purpose and heart.
